Interactive art exploring perceptions.
The collective tension in the world is rising and it seems mostly due to biases, egos, or ignorance. I want to challenge these ideas by showing people what it’s like when you feel the brunt of another person's views. I aim to confront viewers' perceptions by revealing what a mirror never shows: the often misguided, but sometimes accurate filters through which they are seen. At the same time, I hope that if someone holds one of these perceptions, they are able to experience what it's like to be viewed the way they view others, whether it’s a fair portrayal or not.
This project was originally created for TEDxKC 2016: Question Everything. The illustrations were silkscreened on antique mirrors and displayed with minimal explanation for individuals to interpret through their personal experiences.
